A couple of years ago we were looking for wedding favours for our Open Weekend goody bags, and our friend Rosie at Green Union suggested we get in touch with The Heartfelt Project.
Of all the talented wedding and event suppliers that we have been fortunate to meet in ten years of World Inspired Tents, this team stands out as being a bit extra special…
The Heartfelt Project is a charity, which employs women to create beautiful hand sewn wedding favours and gifts. The charity is based in Makapanstad, a community in the North West of South Africa that has been badly affected by HIV/Aids and TB.
Each heart sold by the Heartfelt Project helps to feed and clothe the women and their families. It also gives back to the community by donating a small portion to a local charity to help fight TB, HIV/Aids and look after children and old aged men and women within Makapanstad.
The Heartfelt Project is a job creation and skills development project, using traditional hand craft skills to create Heartfelt products designed out of felt and beading. They aim to ensure that these women can both continue to use their skills and earn a living wage for the rest of their lives.
What makes this charity even more special is that their products are completely gorgeous! They have created a range of favours, buttonholes, decorations and gifts beautifully finished and packed full of Heartfelt love. We strongly urge all our friends, customers and visitors to have a look at their site and get shopping!
Thank you for the introduction, Rosie x
