As for most of the wedding industry, the run up to Spring means the start of lots of wedding and event planning in preparation for the busy season.
For us at World Inspired Tents, we host our annual Open Weekend at Darts Farm, showcasing our impressive Nordic tipis. The event gives us the opportunity to invite couples to view the tents completely built and styled. For many years now we have worked closely with our friend, Nikki from Knots and Kisses, who provides gorgeous styling and stationery for weddings and events. We were so pleased that she was happy to be on board again to create some magical styling in our tents.
As well as showcasing our tipis, this year we also set up our stunning Aurora Sailcloth, a brand-new tent we introduced in 2022. We wanted to provide our clients with an alternative option that was completely different to the tipis. The sailcloth is a white tent, which offers a light and elegant space for clients to style as they wish. It also has the flexibility to have the sides rolled up, bringing the outside in and making the most of any surroundings. It is available in three styles, Classic, Elegant and Majestic and can accommodate up to 300 guests.
Nikki came up with the idea of hosting two shoots, one for each structure, the tipis would be ‘Modern Romance’ using bright pink florals, subtle table décor and glassware, showcasing the tipis in an elegant and refined set up. Nikki commented, “The Modern Romance tipi shoot started as an idea to show people that you don’t have to go full on festival vibes or rustic style just because you’re getting married in a tipi in a field or garden! Tipis can also have a beautiful elegant feel and as a stylist that’s what I set out to prove. So gone were rustic wooden tables and folding chairs and in came elegant crossbacks and fully dressed linen tablecloths and beautiful fringed napkins. Tipi's always look amazing with a pop of colour against the canvas though … so I paired a neutral scheme of oatmeal, beige and camel with gorgeous pops of bright pink and fuchsia.”
The sailcloth was to be styled as ‘The Olive Grove’ using lots of green foliage, patterns, and gold accents, “the starting point for this sailcloth shoot was to incorporate lots of beautiful fabric prints in a new and modern way. So I decided on a simple palette of varying shades of green mixed with rustic touches and white so the mismatched patterns blended perfectly. Green always looks wonderful against the white of a sailcloth tent but it needed a modern spin. Fabric was used as runners on tables, draped as a ceremony backdrop and swagged from the ceiling of the beautiful Sailcloth Tent and accented with balls of olive and pistachio.”
There is so much work that goes into styling, dressing and coordinating a photo shoot, but having two on the same day was always going to be a challenge. Even without the weather on our side, through hale, rain and wind, our incredible team of suppliers pulled it off perfectly and we are extremely grateful to everyone that made it such a success. We are so thrilled with the final images and film, they really do look amazing. We are also extremely pleased that both shoots will be featured in Wed Magazine and Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, so keep an eye out. We cannot wait to see them published, but for now I will leave a little sneak peek from the shoots.
We also had an incredible turnout to our Open Weekend, with lots of new and booked couples popping down to see our structures in all their refinement. Thank you to everyone that came along, and we look forward to doing it all again next year!
